Ramanrao bin Abdullah

Ramanrao bin Abdullah (Rao) holds a Bachelor of Accounting from University of Malaya and a Master in Business Administration from University of Leicester, United Kingdom. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). Rao comes with more than 35 years of extensive experience, beginning as an Auditor at Coopers and Lybrand Malaysia. He spent 6 years at Sylvester Groves & Co. in Bath, England before embarking on a distinguished 26-year tenure at Halliburton. During his time at Halliburton, he held various significant roles across Finance, Business Development and Operation workstreams before becoming Vice President of Business Development for Asia Pacific and Asian National Oil Companies for their Global Operations. His most recent position at Halliburton was Senior Vice President for Asia Pacific. Rao’s uniquely diverse competencies in the oil and gas corporate and regulatory frameworks in Malaysia and globally, coupled with his chartered accountant training, has enabled him to contribute to the larger industry as a Council Member of the Malaysian Gas Association (MGA), Adjunct Lecturer of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Executive Committee Member of International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC) 2025 and Advisory Committee Member for Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) Asia 2026. He previously served on the Research Advisory Council of UTP and the Advisory Council for Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Asia Pacific.

During his last engagement with Halliburton as global head of sales and operations Landmark and Halliburton consulting, he led a global organization of highly skilled and talented individuals who help deliver value to global customers by conducting business effectively, ethically and safely.
Kaiwan holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering, and an MBA from the University of Texas McCombs School of Business.
